(Lilburn, GA) 7/29/2005: 2 weeks ago, video studios across the nation gathered in Las Vegas, NV, for the 5th annual Hanley Awards. The Hanley awards, named after Movie Director and Home Video Studio founder Robert Hanley, recognize video excellence in a wide variety of categories. These categories range from Video Production and Editing to Home movie transfers and DVD authoring.
Mike Roe Video Services, Inc. based in Lilburn Georgia, is in the business of preserving, transferring, and duplicating family memories before they are lost. “Our company values the memories of our customers and their loved ones”, says Mike Roe, founder and owner of Mike Roe Video Services, Inc. A memorial video remembering the short life of Vicki Fulmer, killed in a car accident at the age of 46, was recognized as one that truly honors her memory, as a mother, daughter, and friend.
In the Video Production category, Mike Roe Video Services was also recognized in the top 3 for its work at a local church. In an effort to raise money for mission trips, Lilburn Alliance Church asked Mike Roe Video Services to produce video support for a drama, performed in May. The play, “For This Cause”, written by David H. Robey, was about a missionary couple, John and Betty Stam, who were martyred in China in 1934. Their infant daughter, who was hidden moments before, survived the attack. Videos produced by Mike Roe Video were strategically placed throughout the play to help bring the story to life.
Mike Roe Video Services Inc. is a local, family-owned business and a member of the Home Video Studio, Inc., TAKEONE™ Network, the nation’s largest organization of video studios with almost 80 independent companies. The TAKEONE™ Network provides its members with ongoing training and support in all aspects of the video business.
With its digital video editing and DVD authoring suite, Mike Roe Video is able to produce many types of projects for families and businesses. “We are seeing a great deal of interest in transferring home movies to DVD, creating photo montages, videos for class reunions, video yearbooks, sports scholarship videos, and event highlight videos.” Nonetheless, Mike Roe’s main goal is to preserve precious family memories before they are lost or forgotten forever.
